You’ll be part of a collaborative group of engineers who balance independence in the field with strong teamwork and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.ResponsibilitiesCommission, service, and optimise a range of JBC BMS systems, ensuring installations meet design and operational standards.Integrate 3rd-party systems using Modbus, M-Bus, and BACnet protocols to create seamless control environments.Carry out system testing, fault diagnosis, and calibration to ensure hardware and software operate as intended.Produce detailed commissioning reports, test documentation, and as-fitted drawings documenting system performance.Collaborate with project managers, service coordinators, and clients, keeping stakeholders informed on progress.Deliver client training and system demonstrations so end users can confidently operate BMS systems.Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, system optimisation, and building performance.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their development.Back-engineer or modify software strategies and graphics as required, maintaining accuracy and functionality.Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and documentation on every project.QualificationsBackground in BMS, controls, or building automation with strong fault-finding skills and a logical problem-solving approach.Ability to work independently and maintain high standards.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the North West.Experience with Modbus, M-Bus, or BACnetExperience commissioning, servicing, or maintaining BMS or HVAC control systemsWhy JBC Control Systems?Competitive salary up to £58,000Company car or allowance25 days holiday + bank holidaysOvertime and allowancesPension scheme & death in serviceLaptop & mobile providedAttendance bonusTraining & developmentTeam culture with regular meetings and social eventsEOT: employee-owned structure with indirect shareholdingLocation & Working HoursRegion: North West (field-based, travel required)Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to FridayOffice base: Atherleigh Business Park, Atherton, ManchesterOvernight stays occasionally required (expenses paid)If you’re looking for a role where your technical expertise is valued and your independence is respected, this is it.
