ALLOWANCE: £5,181 per annum allowance

LOCATION: Board meetings are held in person at the Head Office in Evesham, Worcestershire and committee meetings are held via Microsoft Teams

TIME COMMITMENT:

An average of approximately 3 days’ commitment per month

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Board Member to join a dynamic housing organisation that is highly rated by the Regulator of Social Housing (G1/V2/C2).

As a Board Member you will provide effective leadership, strategic direction, and governance to help ensure the organisation continues to deliver high-quality housing and community support services.

Working closely with the Executive Team, the Board Member will apply sound judgement, uphold strong governance standards, and contribute to sustainable growth that benefits local communities.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Board Member include:

  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Guide organisational direction and priorities in collaboration with the Executive Team
  • Ensure Strong Governance: Promote transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making
  • Oversee Risk Management: Support the management of operational and financial risks in line with regulatory standards
  • Champion Good Practice: Encourage compliance with governance, legal, and regulatory frameworks
  • Review Performance: Monitor organisational performance and contribute to improvement plans
  • Engage With Stakeholders: Represent the organisation’s interests within the local community and partner networks
  • Support Development Projects: Contribute expertise in property development, regeneration, and investment
  • Promote Health and Safety: Uphold a strong health and safety culture across all activities

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Proven experience in asset management, property development, or regeneration
  • Strategic mindset and ability to interpret complex information
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of governance principles and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and other board members
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in health and safety, legal, or governance matters
  • Familiarity with the housing or social care sectors
  • Knowledge of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire communities
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion

The role requires a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for all new Members
