Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing organisation, is looking to recruit 2-3 Board members and a new Chair from early 2026.

This is an exciting time to join Luminate’s Board, with Creative Scotland Multi Year Funding having recently been awarded and plans for a new, more locally focused programme being developed with a range of community partners.

• An interest in and enthusiasm for the work of Luminate
• A commitment to carry out the duties and legal responsibilities of being a trustee as outlined in the job description
• A commitment to being well-informed about the work of Luminate
• An understanding of, and commitment to, diversity
• In addition, applicants for the role of Chair should also have experience of charity board membership, and ideally should have been a Chair in another charitable organisation, though this is not essential.

We welcome applications from people of all ages, and from all communities across Scotland.

Commitment:
There are generally 4 full meetings per year plus one awayday, and Trustees are initially elected for a 3 year term of office, with the possibility of renewing this to give a maximum term of office of 6 years. Board meetings are usually held in Edinburgh and reasonable travel expenses are paid.
