Overview

You will be an experienced Building Control Officer with professional membership of CABE or RICS. Candidates will need to be accredited as a competent surveyor at Class 2 commercial level or be working towards accreditation. Assistance will be provided in gaining accreditation and we are committed to providing training opportunities to maintain your Continuing Professional Development. You should also be a good communicator with a forward-thinking, enthusiastic attitude, highly motivated, innovative and customer-oriented. Crucial to your role will be ensuring that our service users maintain compliance with building control regulations. You’ll carry out plan evaluations, undertake site visits, and provide effective advice to the service’s users. There are opportunities to develop skills and take part in formal and informal personal development. Pendle is in Lancashire’s scenic Pennines, close to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and Manchester.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out plan evaluations and site visits to ensure compliance with building control regulations.
  • Provide effective, clear advice to service users on building control requirements.
  • Support and engage in ongoing professional development and accreditation pathways.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Professional membership of CABE or RICS.
  • Accredited as a competent surveyor at Class 2 commercial level or actively working towards accreditation.
  • Strong communication skills, forward-thinking and customer-oriented approach.
