An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Surveyor to join a specialist housing provider who operate across the South of England. This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well-maintained, while enjoying the variety and autonomy of a field-based role.
As a Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for a broad mix of surveying, compliance and asset management activities. No two days are the same. You could be completing a stock condition survey, carrying out a fire risk assessment, inspecting complex repairs or overseeing the delivery of major planned works projects. The role involves travel in the south London area, in addition to the South West of England. This role could be suited to someone with previous surveying experience, or alternatively may have been a Housing Officer, for example.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage capital investment and refurbishment projects, including M&E and cyclical works
- Undertake fire risk assessments, asbestos re-inspections, and statutory compliance checks
- Carry out building surveys, defect diagnosis, and stock condition surveys
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and tender documents
- Monitor and manage contractors against KPIs to ensure quality and value for money
- Act as Principal Designer under CDM regulations, ensuring robust H&S compliance
Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of building safety, compliance, health & safety legislation, and CDM regs
- Proven project and contractor management experience with strong budget control skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
