PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Working in the Production and Business Management Team, the primary objective of the role is to enable the delivery of world-beating journalism 24/7/365. Business Co-ordinators partner with editorial teams based across the UK to deliver against strategic divisional objectives and Value for All whilst maintaining the day-to-day operation.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
The Business Co-ordinators will partner closely with a range of News Content and Live & Daily teams to support key business management activities including:
- Business Planning: supporting the production of forecasts, budgets and options for the management of risk and opportunity.
- Business Performance Management: collating and analysing data, investigating variances to budget and producing routine monthly and quarterly reports on key management information, e.g. headcount.
- Administrative Management: including joiner, mover & leaver activity management, making bookings and raising purchase orders and IT requests.
- Projects & Change: working with the Business Partner and Business Advisor to ensure that the business management services remain fit-for-purpose, continually adapting to evolving customer and business needs. Or working with Editorial areas on changes ranging from ways of working to changes to tools and systems.
- Specialist Management Support: working with senior leaders across News to ensure the efficient and effective operation of decision-making and oversight groups across News, organising meetings, co-ordinating papers, taking minutes and recording decisions.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support in a business unit of similar complexity across a range of teams.
- Highly organised with a flexible and proactive approach and an ability to work with limited supervision and to co-ordinate a busy workload with conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and practical experience of gathering, analysing and collating complex and confidential information; and the ability to produce MI data reports in a range of formats, ensuring deadlines are met and information provided is complete, accurate and timely.
- Strong IT skills with solid experience of office software packages (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and preferably of other specialist reporting and business management tools.
- Knowledge and experience of corporate governance and the administration of decision-making and oversight groups, including producing timely, accurate, high-quality minutes and actions.
- Experience in building and maintaining constructive working relationships with individuals across a range of teams and professional support functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to target the content to the audience.
JOB DETAILS
JOB BAND: C
CONTRACT TYPE: 1 x Continuing (Perm) role & 1 x FTC/Attachment role until 30th April 2026
DEPARTMENT: BBC News – Production and Business Management Team
LOCATION: Media City, Salford (Hybrid role with an expectation that you will work a minimum of 2-3 days a week in the office).
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £30,000 - £35,000 p.a. depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Ideally we would like the successful candidates to start as soon as possible in Early October 2025.
