Business Development Executive

About the role...
Do you thrive on the buzz of speaking to potential new clients? As our next Business Development Executive, positioned in the Nurture team, you will get excited about generating new opportunities and making things happen. This role differs from your standard BD or sales role; Nurture focuses on developing relationships with businesses we have met before and are not current clients of. The team works on developing these relationships with value-add content and event insights, being reactive and well-informed about the business. We help identify opportunities and support bringing them back into the business.
We are looking for someone to join the nurture team and play a pivotal role in its success. We seek someone to bring energy and ambition to source and create new sales opportunities.
In simple terms, as a Business Development Executive, you will secure meetings with prospects to generate opportunities for work across the wider business, with a particular focus on mid-sized companies.
This is a highly target-driven role and will be part of a focused and ambitious business development growth team, where you will be the driving force.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records—including tracking emails, flags to help group targets, and tailor communications.
- Collaborate closely with the Origination, Marketing, and Business Development teams; actively share insights and feedback from your research and activities, and contribute ideas for campaigns.
- Monitor news, updates, or organizational changes relevant to your targets.
- Develop relationships with Key Decision Makers at businesses in the nurture pool, such as those we have met or have an existing relationship with, including ex-clients.
- Generate leads through desk-based research, identifying needs, and positioning our services as solutions to their challenges via social channel selling, event invitations, outbound email campaigns, and external networking.
- Gather intelligence to help create, develop, and deliver market campaigns.
- Proactively promote Cooper Parry across multiple channels.
- Secure follow-up meetings with Key Decision Makers.
- Promote our business areas, including finance, accounting, audit, tax services, corporate finance, specialist advisory services, and more.
About you...
This role is ideal for a self-starter with a proactive attitude and a desire to learn new skills and progress.
You will work successfully to engage Business Owners and C-Level executives and meet tight deadlines, developing effective strategies on the spot.
You will also have:
- B2B sales/telesales experience (not essential)
- Charismatic and engaging manner with the ability to build rapport and influence key decision makers
- Commercial awareness and the ability to adapt your style to different audiences
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on competitive positioning
- Extensive experience managing detailed information accurately via CRM
- Flexibility to respond quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to build relationships from the first point of contact
