Job Purpose
As a Business Development Executive, you will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base by leveraging warm inbound leads through phone, website, and email interactions. Your mission is to achieve individual and team sales targets, driving the growth of First Mile.
Key Accountabilities
- Customer Engagement: Respond to inbound queries, follow up on leads, and build relationships with potential customers.
- Sales Excellence: Upsell recycling services, meet sales targets, and handle objections effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Lead Generation and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth transitions and develop new business opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage inbound customer inquiries and make outbound calls to identify business opportunities.
- Understand customer needs and upsell recycling products to enhance recycling rates.
- Arrange and conduct meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations.
- Swiftly follow up on sales enquiries and provide detailed information.
- Qualify opportunities to ensure effective follow-through.
- Prepare sales quotes and proposals.
- Achieve weekly and annual sales targets and KPIs.
- Negotiate costs and terms via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Support new team members through training and skill development.
Key Skills and Attributes

- Communication Skills: Tailor messages to engage audiences and respond proactively to challenges.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, experience with Salesforce or other CRM software, and excellent client service and persuasive writing skills.
- General Skills: Ability to work in a dynamic environment, juggle multiple tasks, and adapt plans as needed.
