Overview

Business Development Manager - Advice & Wealth Management at RSMR (Rayner Spencer Mills Research), a leading UK independent fund ratings and research agency supporting financial advisers, wealth managers and investment professionals with trusted research, model portfolios and insights. The role aims to drive growth by attracting and retaining business from advice and wealth management firms in relation to the MPS ranges we manage.

Role Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, MPS and Key Accounts, meet and, wherever possible, outperform agreed business and individual objectives
  • Generate MPS business from across the wealth and advice sector, including RSMR’s platform ranges and other network models managed by RSMR
  • Identify opportunities to generate fee-based business into RSMR’s advisory services
  • Develop and manage warm relationships; understand and discuss client needs and plans
  • Represent RSMR as an ambassador, communicating its strengths, services and solutions in relevant and attractive ways
  • Prioritise engagement time with clients and potential clients, face to face or virtually, including meetings and networking opportunities
  • Provide first-class post-sales engagement and servicing for MPS
  • Seek and develop leads from RSMR’s segmented databases
  • Use the CRM to manage client engagement and provide pipeline information and insight
  • Maintain close working relationships with the rest of the RSMR team and stay informed on needs and trends in the advice community, including regulatory changes

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Strong experience in generating business from financial advisers or wealth managers, including understanding client issues and providing appropriate solutions
  • Understanding of challenges within advice and wealth businesses and current regulatory, business and investment trends
  • Proficiency with technology for business, including digital lead generation, CRM and social media (LinkedIn)
  • Effective networking skills, virtually and in person; attending events to develop new contacts and relationships
  • Resilient and self-reliant, and a strong team contributor
  • Several years’ experience and a demonstrable track record working closely with or within wealth/advice businesses

Nice to Have

  • A relevant professional qualification in financial planning or related area would be an advantage

Location

This role is 100% remote. You may work from any Fintel Plc office if desired. RSMR’s office is in Silsden, West Yorkshire, with additional Fintel offices in Glasgow, Huddersfield, Derby, Haddenham, London, Newport, South Wales, Southampton and Worksop. Travel to networking events may be required.
