Climate17 is proud to be working with a growing business in the carbon sequestration sector as they look to recruit a Business Development Manager for the UK and Europe. Our client produces a unique product which is sustainably grown using solar PV and ground heat source pumps and which supplies and supports peatland restoration. They now need to assign the role to a designated sales professional to help realise the potential of the product and business further and tap into new geographical locations, hence why this role has arisen.

You will use your proven expertise in designing a strategy, then identifying opportunities, engaging with and building partnerships with existing and new clients to create a growing pipeline. This role will suit someone who’s used to working on long sales cycles as, due to the nature of the clients and funding programmes, it can take some time to close deals. In addition, you’ll be comfortable talking to senior decision makers in both the public and private sectors so any experience of having done this previously will be advantageous.

Due to the nature of the clients you will be engaging with, you will have strong environmental credentials and be able to understand their businesses and clearly highlight the synergies, so ideally within ecology, forestry, agriculture or horticulture, but those working in the environmental/sustainability/renewables space should also apply.

Based in the East Midlands, not too far from Loughborough, you will be joining a collaborative and supportive environment, with a great Team of professionals. You’ll be in the office two days a week (perhaps more initially whilst you’re getting to know everyone) and then a combination of working from home and visiting clients. You will also be required to attend conferences and events, both in the UK and overseas so you’ll be willing to travel.
