About the role

This global law firm, with a great culture and progression opportunities, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their growing Energy BD team, with a big focus on the Future of Energy. The BD Manager will take ownership of subsectors of the group, working closely with the Senior BD Managers in the US and Germany. The role will also have support from two BD Advisers who support on the high volume of bids and pitches, allowing this role to be more strategic. There will also be the opportunity to line manage in the role. The role will work cross-practice and with a broad array of Partners globally, who are really keen on growing the group and have lots of ideas. Given the sector focus, there will also be the opportunity to manage a couple of key accounts in the group, if the BD Manager has capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting and planning for the Energy sector group
  • Leading on the production of strategic client pitches
  • Developing content and thought leadership for the sector group
  • Working on client targeting and analysis projects
  • Managing a few key accounts as part of the firm’s client programme
  • Ensuring cross selling and knowledge sharing across practices

Role requirements

  • Strong BD and marketing experience, ideally in a global environment already at the Manager level
  • Experience of client strategy and key account management would be desirable
  • Experience of working in a law firm is essential
  • Exposure to the Energy sector would be desirable, but the firm will also look at candidates who’ve had sector driven roles in a law firm, or been aligned to Corporate / Finance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally
  • Analytical mindset, with experience of market and data analysis projects
  • Bid and pitch experience
