Overview

Harris Hill is working with a London based charity to recruit an interim Business Development Manager, 3 to 4 days per week, for up to 6 months, potentially up to 12. This role can be fixed term contract (£43k pro rata) or freelancer (£218.80 per day). Hybrid with 2 days per month in the London office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the tendering process, managing tender portals through submission
  • Write and submit new bids with support from SMT
  • Work with Head of Partnerships and Development and Programme Director to build a wider network of partners to capitalise on new opportunities
  • Attend engagement events for upcoming bids and feedback relevant information
  • Build relationships with potential partners and funders to establish long-term pipeline of new income opportunities
  • Research and identify grant giving organisations and opportunities
  • Maintain the pipeline of new business on Salesforce
  • Robust planning and oversight of new work and reporting on this work to the Business Development Group
  • Take lead of mobilisation period of new projects into the organisation; ensuring good internal comms and engagement to colleagues bringing them understanding of the new work
  • Project management support for new work, ensuring clear projects are created for new work and that the necessary staff have capacity to deliver on the agreed outcomes

Experience / Qualifications

  • Experience in stakeholder management and relationship building
  • Managing and supporting multiple projects at the same time and managing priorities cross-team and cross-project, including mobilisation of new business and contracts
  • Setting up processes and procedures to improve project efficiency and effectiveness
  • Experience of leading tender submissions and bid writing
