Overview

Business Development Manager (Highly Prestigious Insurer) – London. Permanent role in General Insurance, focusing on Commercial, Sales & Business Development.

Location: London & South (flexible on location; some trips into London will be required for meetings with regional broker clients and internal meetings).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a panel of existing broker partners in the South.
  • Take ownership of new business Account Plans for allocated broker accounts within the region.
  • Maintain existing broker relationships through regular development meetings in conjunction with the Head of Regional Business Development.
  • Collaborate with UK region Underwriters to assist in delivering new business terms.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the UK sector propositions; present to allocated brokers; provide input into regional meetings; exploit lucrative commercial opportunities.
  • Actively seek new broker prospects in addition to developing existing relationships.
  • Tailor your approach to a panel that includes global, provincial and regional independent brokers.
  • Promote market-leading specialist insurance products across a range of lines, including Financial Lines, Tech, Construction, Care & Charities and Life Sciences.
  • Contribute to the roll-out of new products and propositions as the business evolves.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Commercial insurance knowledge (any product background considered).
  • Previous experience in a Business Development role within the insurance industry; we will consider experienced BDMs as well as Development / New Business Underwriters.
  • Motivated, engaging and passionate about growth; able to align with the insurer’s vision.
  • Willingness to travel to meet broker clients and attend internal meetings as required.
