Business Development Manager : Testing Solutions (Hybrid)
With over 35 years of privately owned history, our client is recognized for the design, specification, and distribution of specialist electronic components and systems, including test and measurement solutions. To support this continued focus within the test environment, they are seeking a Business Development Manager, particularly with EMC exposure.
Working from a hybrid position in England, the Business Development Manager will go to market and target EMC and testing applications on a consultative, solution sales basis. Supported by your existing knowledge of automotive, defence, aerospace, and EMC test solution sectors, you will represent our client's range of test and measurement solutions to generate new opportunities by penetrating deeper into the customer base with existing and new clients, along with maintaining existing business.
The role requires identification and conversion of new sales leads, professional presentation of test and measurement solutions to clients, developing and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing clients. Success depends on a good understanding of the solutions, commercial excellence, and effective relationship building.
To support this role, you should have/be:
- Strategic selling and business development experience, including closing sales opportunities.
- Networking skills, both traditional and electronic (Social Selling).
- Ability to deliver on targets and objectives.
- Negotiation skills and understanding of channel sales requirements.
- Commercial problem-solving skills.
- Facilitation and team engagement abilities.
- Proactive sales effort across the UK for test and measurement solutions.
- Ability to manage own diary with prospect and customer visits.
- Implement and execute sales campaigns in target markets.
- Increase customer engagement and explore new opportunities.
- Develop key account plans for strategic accounts.
- Build and develop online professional profile and content.
Experience required:
- Experience in the test and measurement arena or similar.
- Understanding of relevant market sectors and successful networking within industry forums.
- Experience in B2B sales, ideally in multi-channel/distribution environments, with at least 2 product categories.
- Proven verbal and written presentation and commercial skills.
- Degree or relevant commercial experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a customer-focused role.
