Are you a motivated and ambitious individual looking to take the next step, or even your first step, into a sales career? We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave, starting November/December 2025.
This role, based within our Interiors Team, offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing new business, building a prospect pipeline, and working towards sales and profit targets. Whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience, we’ll support you with training, guidance, and the chance to work alongside industry experts.

Your responsibilities as a Business Development Manager will be:
- Identify new business opportunities and develop a new business pipeline through a variety of channels such as cold calling, LinkedIn and social media.
- Identify current and prospective clients needs and how our wide range of products and services will benefit their business. This includes Interiors, Office Supplies, Print, IT, Smart Technology, Managed Print Services, PPE, Facilities and Workwear.
- Arrange and facilitate site visits for existing and prospect customers to showcase Commercial’s offering
- Have a proactive approach to sales and consistently achieve your activity (new business appointment making) and sales targets
- Participate in weekly calling days to set up external face to face meetings
- Convert prospects into trading accounts in line with the expectations of the profitability model and targets in both sales and gross profit and percentage
- Create bespoke presentations and proposals for new business opportunities.
- Working closely with the internal Account Management team to ensure that ae valued clients receive the highest level of customer service.
- Build rapport and nurture customer relationships, ensuring client accounts remain profitable at all times
- Hold regular account reviews with clients.
About you:
- You have recent experience in a new business environment where you consistently met or exceeded sales targets, or you're highly motivated to take your first step into a sales career.
- Previous experience working within the business interiors sector is highly desirable but not essential.
- You are self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently.
- You have excellent presentation skills, with the confidence to engage a variety of audiences.
- You manage your time effectively with a highly organised and proactive approach.
- You possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You can adapt to working with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors.
- You have a proven ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
- A full UK driving licence is required, as the role involves travel to client sites across the UK and weekly visits to our Head Office in Cheltenham.

- A base salary of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum + uncapped commission structure (OTE £50,000 - £70,000).
