Overview

Role: Business Development Vice President (South Region) – London (Hybrid). This role is based within the UK Branch of NAM EMEA and is part of the UK and Ireland Wholesale sales team.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a strong, proven track record of business development in a similar role, ideally at a large or boutique asset manager. They should have strong knowledge of the UK wholesale market and, ideally, established relationships in the South England region (South West, South East, Midlands and East Anglia) and the UK wholesale channel. The candidate must be able to prioritise individual and team workloads and deliver high quality, accurate work that meets internal and external standards. All duties and responsibilities must be performed in line with NAM's policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To promote Nomura Asset Management's full range of products through various client activities including one-to-one client meetings
  • Develop new business and relationships in the UK intermediary/DFM sector, predominantly in the South England regional UK Advisory/Wealth channels
  • Work with sales support, marketing, client portfolio managers and portfolio managers to ensure comprehensive, consistent and impactful coverage of the target market
  • Represent Nomura at relevant industry events and organise regular investor events to build Nomura's brand in the region
  • Achieve individually agreed sales targets and contribute to the team meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Cross-sell new products to existing clients in collaboration with the Client Service Team
  • Record activity in a timely manner in the Salesforce CRM system
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly activity reports

Skills & Experience

  • Strong investor network in the South of England (South West, South East, Midlands and East Anglia) and generally in the UK Wholesale channel
  • Ability to set and meet sales targets, individually and as part of a team
  • Strong investment knowledge on product and macro basis
  • Excellent presentation, people and communication skills
  • Team spirit with the ability to be a self-starter and a lateral thinker
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
