About the business
Performance Products (PP) specialises in low and niche volume complex, precision manufacturing of torque path components and electromechanical products, related assemblies and solutions within Driveline and Powertrain platforms, and industrialisation consultancy to top-profile clients in Motorsport and High Performance Automotive markets. Ricard o has over 50 years of experience as a manufacturing partner in top-flight Motorsport; this is a global role with a main focus on the UK, Europe, and North America.
Key Accountabilities
- Network at senior levels within Motorsport teams and OEMs to identify new opportunities.
- Create and execute strategic and tactical sales and account management plans.
- Drive sales for Ricardo Performance Products in Motorsports and related markets to meet or exceed budget and profitability.
- Support colleagues in related sectors (Industrialisation Consultancy, High Performance Vehicles, Defence and Aerospace, Off-Highway & Marine).
- Find and engage new customers, develop commercial proposals and quotations, and collaborate with Bid management, engineering and operations.
- Ensure opportunities are fully exploited with analysis of success/failure and corrective actions.
- Identify, qualify, develop and close new business; grow opportunities within existing customers while protecting revenue streams.
- Deliver objectives and strategic priorities aligned with the business strategy; drive Green Propulsion solutions where appropriate.
Operational Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality proposals to clients in a timely manner, in collaboration with the Bid Manager.
- Ensure accurate costing and estimating for proposals and maintain commercial accountability.
- Lead marketing campaigns and promotional materials with the Marcomms Team; provide customer analysis and management information.
- Maintain sales reporting tools and CRM records in real time; report updates in required forums and meetings.
- Provide monthly SOI and revenue forecasting as part of the S&OP process.
- Travel as required (including international travel) to support growth plans.
- Operate within Ricardo’s matrix structure and manage cross-functional stakeholders across operations, finance, marketing and the board.
Essential
- Relevant degree (preferred) and/or demonstrable experience in a values-based sales role.
- Excellent professional proposal writing experience.
- Strong intermediate to advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Knowledge and experience of the Top Tier Motorsport market.
Desirable
- Strong network of contacts across Top Tier Motorsports with Team Principles, Technical Directors and Procurement.
