Business Support Supervisor - Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Business Support team
  • Continual development within the team to ensure that staff levels reflect the demands of the service and flexible/generic working arrangements
  • Provide administrative support to all Operations' Service Unit Managers
  • Promote operational services to existing and new customers; liaise with managers and other operational staff to ensure effective and seamless service delivery
  • Manage the co-ordination, collation and analysis of all performance data and statistical information within Operations, ready for reporting into the senior management team as well as an internal CRM system and producing written reports of the findings

Business Support Supervisor - The Role

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Supervisor to join our Operations team
  • A busy and integral part of the Operations Service, the team supports and provides administrative tasks for multiple areas within it
  • Taking a lead on the day-to-day management of the team, you will be responsible for the supervision of employees, including performance and absence management, staff development and team building
  • You will ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of services, providing administrative support to the Unit Managers, as well as co-ordinating and collating all Operations performance data, establishing and maintaining appropriate monitoring systems and providing accurate information management

Business Support Supervisor - You

  • A driven, positive and proactive approach is needed
  • With proven team management/supervisory experience, including carrying out 1:1 meetings and appraisals
  • You will have good knowledge and understanding of business management, preferably in a local government environment
  • You will have excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills, with an ability to think creatively to develop processes and procedures to maximise business efficiency
  • A team player, you will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and a proactive and enthusiastic approach to challenges
  • You will be organised, with the ability to manage differing and conflicting priorities, with no two days the same. Strong IT, data analysis and collection and reporting writing skills are a must
