Role: C# / WPF / WCF / Winforms Developer

Duration: 6 months with likely extension

Rate: £415 p/d (inside IR35)

Location: Remote / Canary Wharf

Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements and design application structures
  • Perform business data analysis and program WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications in Visual C#.NET on Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Test with users and implement through Development, Quality Assurance (QA), Production and Disaster Recovery environments
  • Support users and write operation documents including user guides/manuals
  • Contribute to system construction and support for existing WinForms (C#.NET) applications
  • Work on applications written in MS VBA for Excel/Access, MS VB and MS Excel Macros as required

Additional Tasks

  • Define database objects required for systems in collaboration with SQL and Oracle DBAs in London and New York
  • Provide scripts for T-SQL (SQL Server) and PL/SQL (Oracle) to perform data analysis
  • Set up system distribution via Citrix and application servers for Web and Window applications
  • Troubleshoot system failures and implement solutions by checking Windows OS, IIS and related environments; liaise with other application support teams as needed
  • Follow existing team programming policy to maintain a common development style
  • Update MS .NET Framework and Visual .NET platform versions to support production systems
  • Liaise with relevant support teams (Development, Technical Support, Network & Infrastructure, DBA) for business user system issues
  • Assess data processing loads on SQL/Oracle and propose alternatives when appropriate
  • Roll out changes in coordination with Release Manager and maintain change history of applications
