Cabinet Support and Policy Officer

Sitting at the heart of the Council, you will be part of the Leader's Office Team providing fast-paced support to Wandsworth Council's Leader and Cabinet. You will be joining us at an exciting time of change - working closely with the political administration to support the delivery of their vision for a fairer, compassionate, and more sustainable borough.
This is an exciting role in which you will provide policy and research support, briefings, and policy casework to the Leader of the Council and the Cabinet, ensuring they can make effective decisions, communicate their work, and work in partnership with residents, businesses, stakeholders, and communities. Sitting in our wider Chief Executive's Group, you will collaborate with policy, communications, governance teams, and colleagues across the Council.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Passionate about making a difference.
- Highly organised and adaptable, able to balance a heavy workload with fixed deadlines.
- Confident communicator in person and in writing.
- Good relationship-building skills with the confidence to operate with key stakeholders at the highest levels of the Council.
- Understanding of the political environment and the role of the Leader's Office in supporting the Leader and Cabinet.
- Understanding of how regional and national policy landscapes might affect and provide opportunities for Wandsworth.
Although you will be employed by the Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership, this role is specific to Wandsworth only. The current work pattern is four days in the office and one day remote per week.
