Since then, we have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer). We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

We are now looking for engineers to join our Team in the UK. Our human-sized structure (100 employees worldwide) allows us to devote to mentoring and training our engineers. We take a special care to our employees’ development by ensuring them quality projects through which they will increase their skills.

Our Kury values: Curiosity, Trust, Rigour, Teamwork. Our team is international, our engineers are coming from different countries as we are looking for the best talents!

Suitability

You enjoy analysing concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up. Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects with demanding industrial safety precautions captivates you. Your strong analytical skills, sense of logic, aptitude for synthesis and scientific knowledge will help you adapt quickly to multi-system environments. You can adapt to new technical problems and know how to manage a small-sized team. You value Projects and Quality matters and are a good team player.

The Role

As a Cable Expert Engineer, you will be in charge of designing, developing, and reviewing the cable routing network of the project in correlation with the UK cabling rules and the UK nuclear regulation. You will perform necessary engineering analysis including supporting calculations to produce the project documentation. You will act as a central point of contact for system(s) or electrical activities and will perform the following regular tasks:

  • Concatenate and check the consistency of input data for cabling activity.
  • Evaluate input data maturity provided by system, equipment contract, I&C and cabling engineers.
  • Produce documents for building the cable list including the voltage plan, summary table and associated calculations notes.
  • Produce documents for the electrical sub-distribution sequence.
  • Monitor design office deliverables to ensure they follow the quality management system.
  • Draft client deliverables to be used as input for site activities.
  • Identify, monitor and progress open points, design changes, interfaces to maintain activity maturity, traceability and configuration management.
  • Carry out reporting and indicators for the project within the team and toward the client for the Electrical Cabling Engineer scope.
  • Support technical discussions with the client for the assigned scope.
  • Monitor and manage interfaces with cable lists produced by contract holders.
  • Ensure consistency of the design of electrical penetration and cable routing.
  • Provide reports for delivery ensuring integrity of output data (reliable cable paths and lengths) and compliance with UK routing rules (lifetime margins, safety function integrity, electrical segregations).
  • Interface with the layout team to provide routing reports for trays filling rates and queries preventing routing production (3D model quality check, civil works electrical opening management, cable trays design to match routing requirements).
  • Assess feasibility studies for design changes or open points impacting routing activity. Perform risk assessments and mitigate in case of critical modifications.
  • Provide user feedback on routing software usage (performance, weaknesses, troubleshooting), and participate in beta testing.
  • Communicate updates and study progress in routing weekly follow-up meetings, with the layout or management board.
  • Provide training and introduction to the cable routing software and discipline, rules and regulations.
  • Participate in experience-sharing activities (lessons learned from other projects).

During the first months, you will be assisted by the KURY Team on your projects. This experience will offer opportunities to move on to other projects in the medium term, tackling varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics.
