A bit about Field

Field is an international builder, owner, operator of renewable infrastructure. Our Founder and CEO is a successful entrepreneur who previously co-founded a green energy supplier. We have robust pipelines of BESS projects across the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany - and strong financial backing. Our most recent fundraise was a £200 million investment from DIF Capital Partners. This will support our mission to grow internationally, and ultimately to build and develop a robust global BESS portfolio.

Your Mission

As CAD Technician / CAD Design Engineer you will be part of our global design team, working on the hands-on design of our GB and German projects and working in close collaboration with our Spanish and Italian teams to ensure we have coordinated design standards. You will be based at our head office in London alongside our other central teams like Development and Grid, whom you will work closely with. Key Responsibilities

You Will Work On Projects From Origination And Through Development Creating 2D Site Plans, Equipment Drawings And Completing 3D Modelling Using Both Civil 3D, REVIT And 3ds Max. Once a Project Has Received Planning Consent You Will Then Work With Our Construction Project Managers To Ensure The Project Is Built In Accordance With Our Design. More Detail On The Design Work Undertaken At Each Stage Of Our Projects Is Provided Below

During origination, you will be involved in the initial analysis of sites, assessing site suitability and creating a concept design. Property drawings are a significant part of this stage
A large focus of our work is during the development stage - Field is owner and operator of all of our sites and so we do a lot of upfront assessments and design work to support our planning applications. You will use topographic surveys, intrusive ground investigations, infiltration testing and access studies to inform the designs and ensuring that they are robust, and safe to construct and operate; and
Once a project has received planning consent you will work with our construction team and contractors to ensure the project is built in accordance with our design, reviewing detailed design drawings from the contractor, and working on planning variations where needed.

You will work with a team of designers in the UK and across Europe to contribute to the growth of the company as we work towards global climate goals. Its a fast-paced environment and youll need to be able to work quickly and accurately.

What Youll Be Doing

This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to work across markets. Key responsibilities include:

Creation of 2D site plans, equipment drawings and 3D modelling on several projects which you will be responsible for across GB and Germany origination and development. You will work with internal grid, origination and development teams and external consultants to design a site that meets all our requirements.
Completion of a full suite of 2D drawings and plans to support your designs including:

Single-line diagrams;
Planning application drawings;
Land plans;
Pre-construction information e.g. combined utilities plan.

Production of 3D site design models using both Civil 3D to calculate site levels and earthwork requirements and REVIT/3ds Max to create the sites in 3D for visualisations.
Reviews of internal and external design work and drawings to ensure all work meets our requirements and standards.
Review of tender documents and data sheets to continually develop our in house design knowledge and processes. This will include technical information, construction methods and safety requirements.
Support of the implementation of Fields internal data management system and continued process compliance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

A Bit About You

Youre enthusiastic, curious and knowledgeable about the energy storage industry, with a particular passion to learn about the technical aspects of BESS.
Youve got an eye for detail. Accuracy in our designs is critical; youll work to a high standard and collaborate with others to ensure constructable designs.
Youre very organised - youll be spinning a few plates at once, so youll need to have tried and tested methods for keeping on top of a varied workload at your fingertips.
Youre an open, clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively - there are no lone wolves at Field, were all in this together.
You like variety - this isnt an easy role, so youll need to be someone who thrives on challenge , likes to be always learning and isnt afraid of a broad role remit

The skills youll need

Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD;
Experience with Civil 3D and Revit or similar 3D software;
Experience within the energy storage industry is desirable but not essential;
Business level German is desirable but not essential;
Experience working internationally is desirable but not essential;
Degree in engineering is desirable but not essential.

Package Details

Salary: £38-00 - 45,000
