Location: Thurso, Caithness (with Hybrid Working)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 34.5 hours per week (full-time)

Salary: £47,854 per annum, rising to £50,373 after a 6-month probationary period.

Note: Salaries are subject to benchmarking review and may change in April 2026.

Cairn is seeking a dedicated Care & Repair Supervisor to coordinate the operational delivery of the Care & Repair service, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Handypersons to deliver effective Care & Repair/Handyperson services.
• Liaise with NHS Occupational Therapists and Highland Council Social Work Services on referrals for adaptations.
• Provide practical assistance to the Handyperson and Telecare services.
• Visit clients to explain grant application processes, gather information, and submit applications for financial assistance.
• Balance client needs with external agency demands, building contracts, and collaboration with colleagues.
• Undertake property surveys, prepare CAD drawings, and specifications for small works.
• Coordinate technical investigations and work with clients and statutory bodies.

Requirements

• Recognised HND or equivalent in building & construction, or substantial relevant experience (3+ years).
• Experience managing staff and working within contractual parameters.
• Knowledge of building, construction, trades, and CAD packages.
• Understanding of Local Authority Building & Planning regulations, building materials, and CDM2015.
• Full UK Drivers Licence and Basic Disclosure required.
