Career & Performance Specialist – LEAD (Leadership, Evaluational and Development)

Level 2: Senior Associate

Locations: London or Birmingham

Hybrid working: Currently 1-2 days per week in the office, some travel

The opportunity

LEAD is our career, performance and feedback framework which drives better conversations and builds a meaningful career experience for all of our people. This role is pivotal in the operational delivery of our LEAD performance management framework. Working with stakeholders across the Talent function and wider business, and as part of a dedicated team, you will create and deliver the processes that enable career development, performance and pay reviews.

Your key responsibilities

Working as part of a team, deliver the LEAD performance management framework to employees and Partners, including:

  • Planning and execution of mid-year and year-end performance review processes and experience
  • Development of LEAD performance management communications to the Talent community, Counsellors and employees
  • Management of data coming out of and into EY systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy including preparing and distributing data and reports according to Global and Local protocols
  • Manage the process to validate and update employee relationships as required
  • Collation of data outputs from Talent Reviews
  • Managing the LEAD mailbox and responding to queries
  • Support planning and execution of the PPEDD (Partner, Principal, Executive Director and Director) performance evaluation process
  • Ensuring International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) requirements are adhered to and evidenced as required
  • Using materials provided by Global, develop local processes to deliver on the Global framework
  • Produce briefing materials for stakeholders on process updates and changes
  • Support the measurement and evaluation of processes to identify efficiencies and ongoing improvements in the delivery of the LEAD performance management framework and experience of the Talent function and our people. Identify and participate in various projects to support ongoing LEAD performance management improvements, including looking for opportunities to leverage technology to support efficiencies and experience enhancements. This may include process automation or the use of AI to achieve efficiencies.

Relationship Management

  • Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact for the business and other talent functions on matters relating to LEAD
  • Build close working relationships with colleagues across the wider Talent function to deliver an integrated service

Contribution to wider Talent Development and/or Talent priorities

  • Support the Talent Development function by undertaking other operational activities and projects which deliver enhanced value to stakeholders
  • Support the induction of new team members
  • Take on other functional activities e.g. supporting the organisation of team meetings/events or contributing to broader projects as required.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Stakeholder management and business consulting skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across all levels
  • Strong team worker with enthusiastic, can-do approach and ability to coordinate and work as ‘one team’
  • Strong focus on quality and attention to detail, checking of data and information
  • Strong Excel, reporting and data management skills. Ability to confidently manipulate data and manage data across multiple sources and provide evidence-based insights
  • An understanding of change management and a desire to embrace and drive change, acting as a change champion
  • Ability to work autonomously to translate messages and content themes into communications, presentations, stakeholder collateral, etc. being proactive in your thinking on how to best deliver key messages
  • Strong organisation, and project management skills to identify and work to deadlines and milestones, proactively
  • Ideally a working understanding of the processes, systems and handoffs across the Talent functions, including Talent Development, Talent Consulting, Talent Shared Services, Reward
  • Takes ownership of professional growth and maintains learning and relevance in the role
  • Coaching skills for mentoring and developing junior colleagues.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Experience of working in a large and diverse professional services or corporate environment

Experience of working in Talent or Talent Development preferred

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience of working in a data and technology centric environment (e.g. analysis, reporting, etc.)
