Overview

Category Manager - Cardiovascular, MES & Services role at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. The Category Manager is responsible for supporting the effective management and value delivery for the procurement of goods and services across the Cardiovascular, MES & Clinical Services Category. They will assist the Head of Category in developing and maintaining Category Strategies, Category Plans and Commercial Strategy. The post holder will work with the Head of Category to deliver the commercial lifecycle, including policy development, supplier market understanding, and timely guidance to businesses. This role requires visibility and engagement with Trust stakeholders across NWLPS and is based in London three days per week as reflected in the applicable HCAS.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Category in developing and maintaining Category Strategy to deliver NWLPS strategy and corporate objectives, enable maximum aggregation of low-value spend, reduce sourcing activity, and streamline the supplier base to add value through management activities.
• Collaborate with the Head of Category to develop and maintain Category Plans for key spend areas and transformation programmes.
• Contribute to the production of a Commercial Strategy for each sourcing project, including clear sourcing outcomes and contract definitions.
• In liaison with end-users, scope and develop Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) including project outlines, spend baselines (including NWL PS partner spend), project scope and alignment with the approved Category Strategy.
• Manage supplier relationships by engaging the market early and building collaboration opportunities to deliver NWLPS strategy and corporate objectives.
• Assist Category Managers in developing robust, fit-for-purpose and standardised KPIs for use within the sourcing cycle of Category Procurements.
