Overview

Category Manager - Cardiovascular, MES & Services. The Category Manager is responsible for supporting the effective management and value delivery for the procurement of goods and services across the Cardiovascular, MES & Clinical Services Category. They will support the Head of Categorys to ensure development and maintenance of Category Strategies, Category Plans and Commercial Strategy. The Category Manager will work with the Head of Categorys to develop category management strategies, understand the supplier/market landscape, and provide timely guidance and expertise to NWL Member businesses. Visibility and engagement with Trust stakeholders across NWLPS are essential. The post holder is expected to be based in London three days per week, as reflected in the applicable HCAS.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Categorys in developing and maintaining the Category Strategy to deliver NWLPS strategy and corporate objectives; enable maximum aggregation of low-value spend, reduce sourcing activity, and rationalise the supplier base to add value through management activities.
  • Develop and maintain Category plans for key spend areas and transformation programmes in collaboration with the Head of Categorys.
  • Contribute to the production of a Commercial Strategy for each sourcing project, including clear sourcing outcomes and contract definitions.
  • Scope and develop Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) with end-users, including spend baselines, project scope, and alignment to the approved Category Strategy.
  • Engage the supplier market early and manage potential supplier relationships to support NWLPS strategy and corporate objectives.
  • Assist Category Managers in developing robust, fit-for-purpose and standardised KPIs for use within the sourcing cycle of Category Procurements.
