Category Manager - Procurement

Here at evoke plc, we're looking for a highly motivated Category Manager for Technology & COO, overseeing various subcategories such as hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, data centres, network security, end-user computing, IT services, telecommunications, data and analytics, AI, and ML.
You will support compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and customer operations, managing the Technology and COO supply base, and assisting the Head of Category in achieving procurement objectives.
This role is ideal for someone thriving in a fast-paced environment, who is tenacious, resilient, proactive, and enjoys driving continuous improvement, savings, and market innovation within procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes for the Technology category to deliver value and ensure compliance.
- Lead procurement initiatives through collaboration and thought leadership, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Develop and implement a category strategy based on spend analysis, market trends, and business needs.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and seek opportunities for innovation.
- Lead sourcing activities, including RFPs, negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Achieve cost savings, mitigate risks, and ensure value through best practices.
- Manage key supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and foster collaboration and innovation.
- Monitor contract performance, address issues promptly, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Candidate Profile:
- Strong knowledge of contractual clauses and sourcing/category management best practices.
- Proven procurement achievements, preferably with tech industry experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; CIPS (MCIPS) membership advantageous.
