Category Procurement Specialist – Healthcare Services & Pharmacy
Lead the delivery of complex procurement projects in accordance with the Provider Selection Regime, Public Contracts Regulations, and Procurement Act 23. Support a category management approach to achieve cash-releasing savings and sustainable cost reductions for the NHS in this category area.
Require considerable knowledge and expertise within the specialist category area. Demonstrate a strong customer focus, commercial acumen, and a proactive approach. Maintain a sound approach to contract and supplier management within the category.
Build excellent working relationships with peers, colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders at both operational and senior levels. Be hands-on and results-focused.
This role will support the Associate Director of Procurement and Category Manager, building relationships with senior and expert stakeholders to manage a portfolio of sub-categories and support procurement activities. Extensive engagement with NHS organisations and supplier organisations is essential to develop procurement solutions and strategies that meet NHS needs.
Provide expert category-specific advice, support, and guidance to NHS organisations. Skills and experience in Healthcare Services & Pharmacy are highly desirable, but relevant experience in similar categories may be acceptable. A passion for procurement and category management is essential.
