OverviewAECOM is offering an exciting role for an experienced CDM Principal Designer to become part of our award-winning Environment & Energy SH&E Team, delivering one of the largest projects within our Energy portfolio. As a national team, this role can be based at any of our primary UK offices, with a preference for London and the Southeast. A CDM Principal Designer in our Energy Team will be instrumental in fostering positive engagement, providing support, advice, and guidance, as well as disseminating CDM knowledge across our projects, advocating best practices and reinforcing our commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing in all that we do. The role involves collaborating with our teams and clients to provide Principal Designer services within our Energy business. You will report to the Environment & Energy Principal Designer Lead for the UK&I region and aid in the development of our Principal Designer resources, contributing to an environment that encourages professional growth.ResponsibilitiesWork with our design teams and others to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the pre-construction phase of our projects.Coordinate with our design teams and others to ensure the general principles of prevention are applied, during the pre-construction phase of our projects.Work with our design teams to ensure compliance with their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.Coordinate with all the duty holders on our projects during the pre-construction phase to ensure cooperation.Assist our clients in the provision of the pre-construction information.Laise with the principal contractors on our projects and share information relevant to the construction phase and prepare a Health and Safety File for the client at project handover.QualificationsExperience in delivering the Principal Designer role on energy or geographically long projects (roads, pipelines, etc.), ensuring effective and efficient delivery of duties under CDMHigh level of commitment to quality, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work on multiple projects/business initiatives at any one time.Effectively communicates requirements with clarity and precision, demonstrating strong proficiency in both verbal and written English.Benefits and Additional InformationAt AECOM, you'll enjoy a range of core and personalised benefits designed to support your future and well-being, customised to fit your lifestyle.
