OverviewAs a Chief Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of engineering leadership, driving technical excellence across high-impact defence programmes. You will lead the development and delivery of engineering solutions that support the Royal Navy's submarine maintenance and infrastructure initiatives. This is a strategic role where your expertise will shape the future of defence engineering and contribute directly to national security.ResponsibilitiesLeading the development and delivery of engineering solutions across multiple infrastructure projectsProviding technical leadership and guidance to engineering teamsEnsuring compliance with engineering standards, regulations and safety requirementsCollaborating with stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirementsDriving innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practicesThis role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.Essential experienceExtensive experience in engineering leadership within complex infrastructure or defence projectsStrong understanding of engineering governance and assurance processesProven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver technical solutionsExperience in stakeholder engagement and technical decision-makingKnowledge of relevant engineering standards and regulatory frameworksQualificationsDegree in Engineering or related disciplineChartered Engineer status or working towards chartershipProject Management qualifications (e.g. APM PMQ) are desirableSecurity ClearanceThe successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
