The opportunity in front of us is immense. And we’d like your help.About this roleWe’re hiring an interim Chief of Staff to partner closely with our CEO and leadership team over the next 9-12 months. Your primary focus will be on enabling our commercial teams and supporting sales execution, whilst bringing structure, momentum and judgement to the highest-priority work across the business.This is a full‑time, hands‑on role where you’ll shift context regularly. You’ll flex across sales, product, operations and broader business needs as priorities emerge, so you’ll need to be comfortable getting into the details, working cross‑functionally and collaborating closely with leaders across the business to ensure they’re aligned and unblocked.Day to day you willBe a force multiplier for commercial teams. You’ll strengthen sales execution by reducing reporting drag, improving visibility on key deals and coordinating leadership support so the team can focus on winning business.Work hand‑in‑hand with our CEO to amplify impact. You’ll help prioritise focus on key initiatives, maintain visibility into critical projects and ensure strategy is translated into action.Act as a trusted advisor to teams across the business. You’ll help leaders stay focused on the right priorities, ensure teams are set up to succeed, and provide clear context and establish effective feedback loops between functions.Keep critical initiatives moving. You’ll serve as the operational link between leadership and cross‑functional initiatives, surfacing blockers, influencing decisions and driving progress.Support board and leadership reporting. You'll help ensure the board and company leadership have clear visibility into company performance, operating metrics, and strategic progress.It's important that you haveProven experience as a Chief of Staff, VP/Head of Operations, or similar cross‑functional leadership role in a high‑growth, product‑led B2B SaaS business. You've worked closely with executive teams, understand the responsibilities of senior leadership, can operate with appropriate judgement and autonomy, and have a strong understanding of SaaS revenue models, metrics and commercial rhythms.Experience working with products that serve technical audiences. You must be comfortable in technical contexts and have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders.Strong commercial acumen and comfort with financial metrics. You're fluent in board reporting, financial and operating metrics, and the commercial aspects of running a business.A track record of getting close to commercial execution and making teams more effective without taking the wheel.Strong execution capabilities including excellent project management and analytical skills. You can pick things up quickly, learn fast and make an impact. Ably is a fast‑moving environment where priorities can shift and the ability to turn ambiguity into a clear plan and keep multiple priorities moving in parallel is key.Availability for a full‑time interim engagement (initially 9–12 months) with a start as soon as possible.Bonus points if you haveFamiliarity with realtime infrastructure, developer platforms, or API‑first businesses.Leadership experience in a company that’s been on the £10M–£30M ARR journey.Background in consulting or strategy paired with hands‑on startup/scaleup experience.What’s it like to work at Ably?We’re tackling planet‑scale problems and our ambitions are a testament to that.
