About the role:
The CTO is a key member of the Senior Leadership team, responsible for setting the technology vision, building scalable platforms, managing teams, and driving innovation to support our expansion into new markets. The CTO will oversee the development and maintenance of our systems, including hardware and software, and will champion continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain integrated workflow management, enterprise support, and data analytics systems.
- Manage the Charge Point Management System (CPMS) for our network.
- Lead product development, including hardware and software integration for an excellent customer experience.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team leader with excellent technical skills and proactive in planning and executing strategic initiatives. The CTO will provide leadership and ownership in areas such as:
- Technology Strategy & Vision: Define and implement a technology roadmap supporting network scaling, hardware-software integration, and customer experience.
- Infrastructure Innovation: Oversee design and deployment of CPMS, charging hardware, EMS, and software platforms.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a cross-functional engineering and IT team.
- System Scalability: Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
- Energy & Grid Integration: Lead initiatives in smart charging, V2G, and renewable energy integration.
- Customer Platforms: Drive development of mobile apps, web portals, and payment systems.
- Partnerships & Standards: Collaborate with vendors, OEMs, utilities, and regulators.
- Data & Cybersecurity: Establish cybersecurity protocols and ensure data privacy compliance.
- R&D Leadership: Invest in emerging technologies like V2G and AI-driven maintenance.
- Budget & Supply Chain Management: Manage technology budgets and vendor relationships.
- Company Leadership: Contribute to the broader organization as part of the SLT, representing the company at board level and fostering cross-department collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in computer science, engineering, physics, maths, or related field.
- 10+ years in technology leadership, preferably in a scale-up environment.
- Understanding of EV hardware, backend networks, cloud infrastructure, IoT protocols (OCPP, MQTT), and energy management systems is advantageous.
- Experience with cybersecurity, data privacy laws, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Hands-on expertise in software development, network architecture, and hardware integration.

Location:
