National Friendly is a small mutual life insurer with a forward looking attitude and a broad and diverse portfolio of products through which it is seeking to support new business growth over the forthcoming years.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented claims handler to join our existing team. Whilst you will administer a range of claim types such as sickness, medical, cancellations, maturities and deaths claims there will be a particular focus on Income replacement related claims across our range income protection products. These require proactive case management oversight with claim exposure of up to £144,000 per claim. Supporting customers to help them get back to work quickly is therefore essential to manage expenses.
Key attributes:
- You will need good judgement, attention to detail, to be inquisitive in your assessment and investigation of claims and to maintain accurate and organised records for all claim activity
- To have a fair and reasonable approach when reaching a decision to accept, challenge or decline a claim. You’ll use effective information gathering methods to allow for the claim to be assessed to ensure that the necessary requirements are met and informative updates are provided to the claimant
- The ability to work with others to make a stronger team and to provide accurate and consistent decisions in line with expectations whilst delivering an empathetic, supportive and efficient claim service for the customer
- You will need great communication skills, be comfortable on the telephone and able to liaise with internal teams, members and third parties whilst delivering an excellent customer claims experience
- You will need to be self-motivated and have effective time management skills, ensuring claims decisions and general administration work is completed accurately and efficiently whilst working collaboratively with other team members to streamline processes
In additional to a competitive salary of around £25,000 depending on experience, we provide an excellent benefits package including a generous bonus scheme, pension contributions up to 12%, private medical cover, life assurance (x4 salary) and much more. We also offer discretionary hybrid working, with 3 days per week spent in the office and the option to work from home for the remaining time.
