Clerk to Governors – Required with immediate effect. Christ Church Hanham CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a Clerk to commence duties with effect from immediate effect. The fee payable is £1,750 per annum and is based on 6 Full Governing Body meetings per year and 6 Committee meetings. Key Requirements Has experience as an administrator Is IT literate Is well organised Has good communication skills Is able to take accurate minutes at meetings Is able to maintain impartiality and handle confidential minutes Is capable of advising Governors on changes and updates in legislation and other requirements Previous clerking experience is desirable though not essential as training and support will be available. You should be reliable and have a flexible approach. Key Responsibilities Act as holder of office and primarily undertake the role in term time. Meet and liaise with the Head Teacher and Chair of Governors / Committees to set an appropriate agenda. Ensure agenda and associated documents are shared with the relevant members of the Governing Body in good time. Take detailed, accurate minutes and get them typed and shared within a week of the meeting. Attend meetings, typically in the evenings between 4pm and 7pm. Carry out the role at home at times of the day to suit the Clerk, whilst ensuring agreed deadlines are met.
