Client Engagement (CFO solutions) - Associate Director Alternatively, Grant Thornton Job Description

New Today

We are looking for a candidate to work with our teams across the UK, and we are flexible on the office base. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid model.

A look into the role: If you enjoy working on a wide-reaching range of projects that will help businesses and communities flourish, you'll fit right in. Specifically, you will become responsible for the end-to-end project management of several client projects. You will be expected to undertake the relationship management for these clients and projects while supporting Partners and Directors with business development opportunities to support future growth and revenue.

You will support the team by building upon the existing client base through exceptional relationship management, growing your internal/external network, and elevating your personal brand. This includes:

  • Building long-term relationships with clients and targets by holding periodic calls with them from introduction through to engagement completions
  • Driving a pipeline of opportunities through your own internal and external network
  • Working with the rest of the CFO solutions team to deliver our growth strategy by getting involved in our growth initiative working groups and actively targeting entities on our focus list
  • Engaging with internal BD initiatives such as joining sector-specific calls with members from other Grant Thornton teams and participating in other internal events/calls to raise the profile of CFO solutions
  • Regular client check-ins to check how our secondees are performing and to develop the client relationship, enabling you to spot any possible further opportunities for CFO solutions or other Grant Thornton teams
  • Secondee check-ins to check on their workload and wellbeing, help with any issues, and follow up
  • Managing additional resource for ongoing client engagements should they require it
  • Ensuring revenue and costs forecasts are always up to date
  • Providing regular delivery updates to the rest of the Clients & Markets team
  • Reviewing resource options and discussing the role with candidates to identify who would be the best fit

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in helping to build revenue and growth through establishing solid business relationships, experience of building their personal brand and network to support business growth, and excellent project management experience working across many priorities concurrently. Strong knowledge of finance functions and demonstrable experience in growing client relationships are also essential.

It would be beneficial if you had some of the following skills: being fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/equivalent) and passionate about supporting, advising, and helping businesses achieve their potential; having gained experience in a practice environment (e.g., External Audit); and having worked in a revenue-generating or fee-earning role.

At Grant Thornton, we do things differently - looking to the future, driving ambitious growth, and pioneering positive change in our industry. We empower our people with real opportunity, an inclusive culture, and work-life balance. With over 5,000 people in the UK and a presence in 150 global markets, we're on an ambitious journey from great to exceptional, and we need the best people to help us achieve our potential.

We understand you may want to have an exploratory conversation in the first instance to understand more about the team and role. Please reach out to Sam Harrison or the recruiter, who will be happy to have an initial conversation. We're looking for people who want to contribute, spark fresh ideas, and go beyond expectations. People who want to be able to proudly do what's right, for the firm, our clients, our people, and themselves.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. We are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful work environment that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
