The Opportunity

Grade AMN2: £48,288 - £91,753 Per Annum

CMVM / Edinburgh Medical School

Full Time - 40 Hours Per Week

Fixed Term: 12 Months

The Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Education Fellow (CEF) based in Medical Education / Edinburgh Medical School. This post offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee clinician to develop their skills in teaching and training medical students, and to support the undergraduate MBChB programme to deliver excellent teaching and assessment.

This role will support ethics and professionalism teaching.

These posts will be for one year, with an optional additional year with mutual agreement. The role is suitable for anyone who has completed FY2 training, including Specialty Trainees who are more than 12 months from completing their training.

A strong interest in medical education and experience of teaching in a health care setting are essential.

This post is full-time (40 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

About The Team

Edinburgh Medical School: Medical Education is based in the Chancellor’s Building at Little France and sits within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine [CMVM] . It was created in 2017 following the integration of the organisation and academic development of the MBChB curriculum, following the launch of the six year MBChB programme. Medical Education works in partnership with academic and NHS staff, educational technologists, and administrative colleagues to ensure our undergraduate medical programme meets the standards laid down by the General Medical Council and the Quality Assurance Agency, and goes beyond these requirements to deliver a world-class education. Core activities include curriculum development, faculty development and educational research as well as meeting the highest standards for delivery of the curriculum and improvement to the student experience. In addition the postgraduate Masters in clinical education and international consultancy and projects contribute to excellence in clinical education locally and beyond.
