Provide a specialist Functional Neuropsychology Disorder (FND) Clinical Psychology service for Community Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Service (CNRS)/Community Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) face-to-face, remotely, and in the community. There will be opportunities to see some patients in liaison with the existing Community Stroke Service.

This is a preceptorship, offered as a band 7 and progressing to band 8A once leadership competencies are met.

Main duties of the job

This broad and varied post offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills in FND and to enhance a broader range of skills and experiences. You will work with patients, families, and carers within a specialised multidisciplinary team based at CNRT/CNRS.

We seek an enthusiastic psychologist with experience in mental/physical health, an interest in neuro services, and a commitment to patient care. The role involves assessment, formulation, and delivery of care to patients, as well as consultation and liaison with the MDT and external sectors. The service provides therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and family work. The post encompasses mental health, physical health, and family work.

Support for QiCN accreditation and supervision is available. There are extensive opportunities for involvement in service development and research, as the service is under new management.

Person Specification

Education

• DClinPsych/PsyD in Clinical Psychology
• HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist
• Specialised knowledge of assessment and treatment of psychological issues in individuals with diabetes and FND

Experience

• Experience working with neuro patients
• Specialised knowledge of psychological assessment and treatment in FND
