Role Overview

As a member of a multidisciplinary Mental Health crisis team, you will provide individual assessments of service users experiencing a mental health crisis, identify clinical interventions and deliver direct care to users with mental health problems. You will also undertake management tasks, deputise for the Team manager as required, lead mentoring and supervise others within your service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessment and formulation using a range of mental health tools.
  • Make appropriate judgements about the needs of service users in crisis.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate care in negotiation with service users, carers and other services, considering the needs of a diverse community.
  • Take a lead on mentoring and supervising others within the service area.
  • Help develop the Home Treatment Team response for people with dementia, liaising with other providers, developing new operating protocols and training team members.
  • Manage other tasks and deputise for the Team manager as required.

Qualifications

  • NMC registered nurse (or equivalent professional registration).
  • Experience in mental health crisis care and home treatment teams.
  • Strong assessment, formulation and critical judgement skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Capability to mentor and supervise others.

You may be required to work at different locations across North London (Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Islington) on a temporary or permanent basis.
