About the OpportunitySanderson is collaborating with a leading UK-based organisation seeking skilled Cloud Application Developers to support a platinum-level account. In this role, you’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, build, and deliver high-availability, automated, cloud-native applications using AWS cloud technologies. This is an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects, developing applications that power secure, modernised platforms and deliver real value in highly complex environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, technical context, and strategic goalsDesign, build, and deploy scalable cloud applications across AWS environmentsImplement innovative solutions using automation and modern software practicesEnsure applications meet security and compliance requirementsProvide input on emerging technologies and drive best practice adoptionSupport testing, monitoring, and performance tuning to maintain high-availability servicesStrong software development background, ideally with cloud application deliveryProficiency in programming languages such as Python, React, or GoExperience working with Linux environments and cloud-native developmentStrong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and DevOps practicesExcellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work in Agile, fast-moving environmentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExperience with AWS (preferred) or Azure deployments and architecturesWeb application services: NGINX, Apache, JBossExperience with Test Driven Development (TDD) or Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)API development and integration (Go preferred but not essential)Understanding of asynchronous programming modelsKnowledge of monitoring tools (ELK, Nagios, DataDog, Splunk, New Relic)Experience with Atlassian Toolset (Jira, Confluence, etc.)Understanding of databases and query languagesAwareness of identity and access management technologies (ADFS, OIDC, OAuth2, Keycloak, Red Hat SSO)Security Clearance RequirementsDue to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for national security clearance.
