About The Candidate

build effective relationships across all levels of the Club. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, bringing an approachable demeanour and a resilient, adaptable mindset.

As Club Doctor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering first-class medical care to our players, supporting their health, recovery and long-term development. You’ll be hands-on in diagnosing and managing sports injuries using evidence-based approaches, while collaborating closely with physiotherapists and performance staff to design tailored rehabilitation programs. Your expertise in pitch-side emergency response, including advanced trauma life support, will be essential in high-pressure matchday scenarios. Familiarity with diagnostic tools (such as imaging, blood tests, and performance metrics) will guide your clinical decisions and ensure precision in care.

You will have outstanding communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You’ll work closely with players, coaches, and multidisciplinary teams, building strong relationships rooted in empathy, trust and professionalism. Calm and confident decision-making under pressure is vital, especially in a fast-paced professional environment. You’ll also be expected to mentor junior medical staff and contribute to a culture of excellence across the Club.

A strong commitment to confidentiality, ethics and safeguarding is non-negotiable. Discretion and confidentiality are essential, as is a thorough understanding of clinical and safeguarding protocols.

Beyond immediate care, you’ll bring a strategic lens to player health by integrating medical expertise with nutrition, psychology, and training to optimise performance. You’ll champion long-term athlete development, prioritising sustainable wellbeing over short-term fixes. Staying current with clinical, scientific, and technical innovations is key, and you’ll be encouraged to attend relevant meetings, courses and seminars to maintain the highest standards of care.

You will fulfil the role as documented in our emergency matchday protocols and providing pitch-based care.
