Overview
Somerset FA, in partnership with SASP, are seeking a passionate and driven individual to lead coach development across the county while driving the growth of girls’ football through the Barclays Girls’ Football Partnership.
Location & Hours
Location: Somerset FA HQ, Glastonbury (with some home working and occasional travel to SASP HQ, Wellington)
Hours: 35 hours per week (some evenings and weekends required)
Contract: Fixed Term until June 2028
About the Role

- Supporting clubs to become thriving, sustainable community hubs.
- Leading high-quality coach development programmes that create positive environments for every player.
- Delivering innovative opportunities for girls to learn, play, lead, and compete through football in schools and community settings.
- You’ll work with a range of stakeholders including coaches, clubs, schools, volunteers, and national partners, helping to shape the future of football for all.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about football development and has the skills to inspire and support others.
- Essential qualifications and experience:
- Educated to A Level (or equivalent).
- UEFA B (or working towards).
- Coach development experience, ideally within grassroots football.
- Experience supporting adult learning.
- Strong project management, communication and partnership skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion and equality in sport.
- Enhanced DBS check (required).
- Two years’ sports development experience.
- Knowledge of The FA’s Grassroots Football Strategy and CPD Framework.
