The Temporary Staffing Team seeks a motivated, dynamic and skilled individual to lead our collaborative temporary staffing team, covering all temporary staffing requirements across the Kent & Medway. The role requires a well-organised, proactive approach and a 'can do' attitude. The role offers a rewarding environment with a supportive team and a flexible hybrid working arrangement across sites in Kent and Medway, with occasional home working opportunities.

Our service hours are currently 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, though this may change to meet service needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of timely and cost-effective temporary staffing bookings for all staff groups across the region, streamlining practices and negotiating rates as required to provide a professional, efficient and cost-effective Collaborative Temporary Staffing Service, ensuring bookings comply with current booking procedures, protocols, NHS Employers requirements, NHSI requirements and best practice.
  • Monitor, collate and report temporary staffing data; develop, amend and disseminate reports to meet requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and prioritise own work and oversee the work of the team, ensuring a proactive and cost-effective service delivery compliant with departmental SLAs, SOPs, policies and NHSI requirements.
  • Plan and oversee local induction, support, shadowing and on-the-job training for new team members.

About the organisation

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust in south-east England, providing general hospital services and specialist care to around 600,000 residents in West Kent and East Sussex. The Trust has over 8,000 staff and offers specialised cancer services through the Kent Oncology Centre. Fordcombe Hospital, near Tunbridge Wells, became part of the Trust in October 2024, offering planned care with operating theatres, inpatient and day-care beds, diagnostic services and treatment rooms.
