Location: London (Hybrid – one day a week in our London office)
Employment type: Full‑time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)

About the role: You will deliver high‑quality, strategic legal support across the business. The position partners with senior stakeholders to influence key commercial decisions and owns complex contract negotiations, procurement guidance and governance strengthening for a rapidly growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver commercial legal advice across NDAs, service agreements, framework agreements, IT/IP contracts and procurement processes.
  • Lead drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts to drive business objectives while managing risk.
  • Support bids and tenders processes, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Work closely with the Group Head of Legal to build and evolve a best‑in‑class legal function.
  • Conduct contract risk assessments and provide pragmatic, commercially focused guidance to stakeholders.
  • Represent Marston in client meetings, negotiations and regulatory discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with key legislation including the Companies Act 2006, DPA 2018 and SRA regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified UK Solicitor or Barrister with 5+ years PQE.
  • Strong background in commercial contract law, procurement and corporate governance.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex, high‑value commercial contracts.
  • In‑house experience (private sector preferred).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and the confidence to influence at board level.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and sound commercial judgement, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
