Better Placed are delighted to be supporting a long-established, food & beverage business with a strong sustainability focus, as they look to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager to join their South Wales site.
This is a high-impact, commercially focused role, sitting at the heart of operations and partnering closely with the leadership team. You’ll be the go-to person for cost transparency, financial insight, and performance improvement, helping to shape decisions across production, supply chain, and investment planning.
The Role:
- Take ownership of cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with group and local standards
- Deliver clear visibility on performance (P&L, variance analysis) through insightful reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the site
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to drive efficiency and margin improvement
- Support investment decisions through robust financial modelling and project evaluation
- Manage month-end, inventory valuation, and material cost controls
- Champion continuous improvement, automation, and better use of data across finance and operations
About You:
You’ll be an analytical, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to the numbers and the action on the floor. You’ll bring energy, curiosity, and a genuine interest in driving performance through better insight.
- Strong background in cost control, budgeting, and operational finance
- Confident working cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain environments
- Comfortable balancing hands‑on financial control with strategic analysis
- Proactive, adaptable, and always looking for ways to improve processes
Package:
- Private healthcare, pension, and life assurance
- 25 days holiday
- Hybrid working (2–3 days on‑site)
If you’re an operationally minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and wants to make an impact in a values‑driven, sustainable manufacturer, I’d love to chat.
