Overview

Providing advice and guidance and engaging customers and stakeholders in a timely and appropriate manner demonstrating and promoting MOD Commercial policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle for your area of responsibility, producing sourcing strategies, actively contribute to the creation of project plans and sourcing strategies, contract negotiation and award, and contract management.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities represent best value for money.
  • Provide commercial advice on systems which support procurement – in particular CP&F (the MOD’s Contracting, Purchasing & Finance Tool, used to manage requisitions, Purchase Orders, Agreements, and the On-Boarding of new suppliers) and our Defence Sourcing Portal.
  • Manage stakeholders within the MOD, Other Government Departments and Industry Partners.
  • Network actively across Head Office Commercial, MOD and OGD’s, Crown Commercial Services and externally in accessing current trends and best practice, as well as potential routes to market.
  • Act as a role model for others, demonstrating effective communication and appropriate behaviours while ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
