Commercial Trading sits at the heart of the business to optimize our commercial outcomes taking external and internal factors into account. The area is responsible for steering the business through changes in a rapidly evolving market to be able to deliver our budget P&L ambition and deliver to our proposition, distribution and investment strategies.
The Commercial Trading Manager role is a key element in striking the right balance between ensuring our customers’ needs are met, new and existing, in the most commercially optimal way possible using our channels & frontline feedback to help inform investment decision making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Able to understand performance through reporting actuals and comparing to target
- Interpret the results through analysis and enrich using other sources of information from channels and market to propose commercial interventions to trade to target or progress opportunities / mitigate risk
- Responsible for ensuring brilliant execution of commercial changes including system changes & briefing content into channels working with the comms teams
- Contribute to the weekly commercial trading governance cycle taking ownership of your metrics and targets to create content to share at weekly trading meetings and commercial board
- Able to create business cases & post implementation reviews.
- Work collaboratively with Channels, Finance, Marketing, Comms and System teams to diagnose issues and implement remedial action to course correct to target
- Pull together content that represents your area of responsibility as part of the weekly trading governance & communicate, as required, to Senior Trading Manager, Trading Director and other senior leadership.
The Skills And Experience You’ll Have
- Previous trading experience
- Ability to extract data from app based reporting systems and produce PowerPoint slides
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment including quick decision making
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines of weekly trading governance
- Superb stakeholder management skills across all directorates
- Strong communication skills to be able to clearly articulate complex issues, dependencies and influence to gain alignment on recommendations
- Team player & adaptable to be able to multi task
