What You Will Do
- Manage, coordinate and deliver SP Energy Networks' Community Energy Strategy, updated annually and aligned to communities' requirements; ensure independent review and adjustment to external changes.
- Develop and continually review stakeholder and customer maps to target engagement effectively and inclusively.
- Create and implement an annual Community Energy engagement plan; remain flexible and innovative in approach.
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders and local community groups to reflect priorities in strategy and delivery plans.
- Partner with local support organisations to deliver community energy awareness campaigns at scale and provide educational outreach about energy sector changes and participation benefits.
- Develop stakeholder forums, meetings and events to support awareness of the Community Energy Strategy and its delivery.
- Capture and record all Community Energy engagement activity in agreed corporate systems.
- Develop engagement plans that support regulatory and business plan objectives and optimise return through applicable incentives; integrate innovative solutions where appropriate.
- Support the development of customer service and stakeholder engagement skills across the Distribution Business.
- Mentor and train less experienced team members, graduates and trainees to build capabilities within the team.
- Collaborate with other Distribution Network Operators, the regulator and external parties to maintain a consistent UK approach to community energy support.
- Work with Central Stakeholder & Communications to implement engagement strategies and drive continual improvement from stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure communities are fully supported in interactions with SP Energy Networks.
What You Will Bring
- Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant outputs and incentive mechanisms.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and in devising and implementing engagement plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with sound engineering and financial judgment.
- Understanding of business drivers and the external context in which SPEN operates, particularly knowledge of the Community Energy Sector.
- Excellent IT and writing skills; strong capability in strategy development and implementation.
Minimum Requirements
- Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement management skills demonstrated in a previous role.
- Proven experience in a comparable managerial role.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).
