Community Fundraising Coordinator
2 Days Old
At Home-Start Suffolk, we believe every parent should have the support they need to give their child a better future. We aim to create a society where children thrive through healthy relationships with their peers. Our mission is to empower parents with the skills, knowledge and emotional resilience to help their children flourish. Our trained volunteers provide practical, emotional and non-judgemental support to families with children under 12, facing challenges such as mental health issues, loneliness, disability and domestic abuse. They offer professional friendship, helping parents build confidence, strengthen relationships and improve wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who’s passionate about making a real difference in their community – someone who’s excited to play a key role in our fundraising efforts, helping to ensure we can continue providing vital support to local families when they need it most.
Reporting to our Partnerships and Fundraising Manager, the Community Fundraising Coordinator will take a proactive role in generating income through local community engagement, volunteer-led initiatives, supporter groups, and grassroots events. They will build strong relationships across Suffolk and inspire individuals, schools, local organisations and community groups to support Home-Start Suffolk through creative and inclusive fundraising activities. They will play an integral role in the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of Home-Start Suffolk’s annual programme of fundraising events.
A key part of the Community Fundraising Coordinator’s role will be to recruit, develop and support a team of passionate community fundraising and event volunteers who can help deliver community-based activities and represent Home-Start Suffolk at local events.
This is a position that requires a self-motivated team member with a dynamic and hands-on approach. The successful candidate will demonstrate their track record in fundraising and well-developed written and verbal communication skills and, above all, be a strong, positive team player committed to the aims and values of Home-Start Suffolk.
Duties, responsibilities & behaviours - specific to this role:
- Support the Partnerships and Fundraising Manager in coordinating Home-Start Suffolk’s calendar of fundraising events throughout the year.
- Contribute to the planning and smooth running of fundraising events, helping to ensure they are successful and enjoyable.
- Help attract and welcome community volunteers to get involved in fundraising and event support across Suffolk.
- Work with our volunteers by offering guidance, training, and resources to help them feel confident, valued, and supported in their roles.
- Keep in regular contact with volunteers, offering encouragement, appreciation, and practical support to strengthen ongoing engagement.
- Assist in developing and delivering creative and inclusive fundraising ideas that connect with different communities across Suffolk.
- Build positive relationships with individuals, schools, local businesses, and community groups to encourage their involvement and support.
- Support the creation of fundraising toolkits and offer practical advice to individuals or groups organising their own fundraising activities.
- Work alongside the Marketing & Communications Officer to share community fundraising stories and promote events through social media, newsletters, and local press.
- Represent Home-Start Suffolk at events and community activities, acting as a friendly and approachable point of contact for supporters and the public.
- Take a proactive and positive approach, bringing forward ideas, helping to improve existing events, and exploring new opportunities to engage supporters.
- Bring energy, enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude to the role, contributing to a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
- Be flexible and willing to attend events or meetings during evenings or weekends, as needed.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks that may arise from time to time, in line with the nature and level of the role.
