Join Carpenters Group as a Complex Legal Advisor, managing a caseload of litigated and non‑litigated personal injury claims with a primary focus on Road Traffic Accident (RTA) matters. The role progresses fast‑track and multi‑track claims, maximising damages and recoverable costs while transitioning them from portal to advanced stages.

Job Purpose
Handle complex personal injury cases that have exited the portal, typically fast‑track or lower‑value multi‑track claims. Overlap injuries, pre‑existing conditions, stayed proceedings, and challenging client circumstances are common. Progress such claims to satisfactory resolution, emphasizing transition to fast‑track and/or multi‑track stages, maximising damages and recoverable costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain proactive communication with lay and insurance clients throughout claim lifecycle.
- Build rapport to ensure consistent service delivery and foster insurer loyalty.
- Verify authenticity and validity of claims on complex or sensitive files.
- Develop client relationships to minimise complaints and enhance reputation.
- Keep insurers informed of claim progress to mitigate exposure and maximise savings.
- Discuss all heads of claim with clients from outset and revisit throughout claim.
- Collect relevant documentation from clients as early as possible.
- Obtain medical reports and progress claims efficiently within timeframes.
- Prioritise telephone communication over written correspondence for liability and quantum offers.
- Advise on contributory negligence issues as they arise.
- Prioritise and manage daily incoming correspondence, addressing urgent matters promptly and processing remaining items in order of importance.
- Drive portal claims into Fast Track and/or Multi‑Track, maximising damages and recoverable costs.
- Deliver excellent client service and secure positive outcomes.
- Support junior or less experienced team members with client, referrer, agency, and procedural queries.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader and/or Head of Department to take on more contentious files under supervision, expanding personal expertise.
- Increase the number of Multi‑Track cases within caseload to further develop professional experience.
Experience & Knowledge
- Solicitor or CILEX qualified in personal injury, technical Fast Track claims.
- Portal experience essential; many cases referred are stayed and require lift or extension.
- Experience dealing with complex or technically nature claims.
- Proven record running a successful fast and/or multi‑track caseload in personal injury environment.
- Excellent client care and analytical skills, providing written and oral advice clearly and concisely.
- Good working knowledge of CPR and relevant case law and legislation, progressing defences timely in accordance with CPR.
- Effective communication with external agencies (medical, investigators, barristers, etc.).
- Can‑do culture to raise efficiency and productivity.
- IT skills; competent use of Solcase or similar case management system and essential MS Office.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, calm and methodical approach, flexible and adaptable attitude to resolving issues.
