Compliance & Legal Consultant – Energy Transition sector

Contract: 3–6 months

Location: Victoria, London (Hybrid)

Start Date: ASAP

Join a fast-growing company in the energy transition sector as an experienced Compliance & Legal Consultant.

You will lead the implementation of the business’s internal compliance programme, while also supporting the legal team on BAU commercial matters. You’ll work directly with the VP of Legal and operate across multiple functions, helping to embed best practice as the company continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the rollout of a fit-for-purpose compliance programme across the business
• Manage regulatory compliance, including KYC processes and other operational obligations
• Conduct internal risk assessments, gap analyses, and lead on policy drafting and implementation
• Deliver compliance training and raise awareness across teams
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance is fully embedded in business operations

Compliance Experience

• Proven experience leading compliance programmes in a start-up or scale-up environment
• Strong understanding of KYC, risk, and regulatory frameworks
• Comfortable working autonomously and owning projects end-to-end
• Previous in-house legal experience or legal qualification is highly desirable
• Experience within tech, or regulated industries is a strong advantage

Legal Experience (bonus)

• Provide support on commercial contracts, including NDAs, supplier terms, and MSAs
• Assist with general legal queries in collaboration with the VP of Legal
• Help streamline internal legal processes as the business grows
